Chelsea are pretty close to getting a fully fit squad which has excited Enzo Maresca, with one duo in particular set to be used once available.

The Blues have finally settled on a side that works, having gone on a four-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

Next up is Brighton and Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge in what will be a tough test for Enzo Maresca.

After such a strong performance last time out at West Ham, we predict that Chelsea will unleash pretty much the same side that destroyed the Hammers.

Nicolas Jackson is likely to keep his place due to the two goals and an assist he grabbed at the London Stadium, despite Christopher Nkunku’s hat-trick midweek.

However, it’s a different Chelsea pairing that Maresca is excited about using at some point this season.

Enzo Maresca excited about unleashing Romeo Lavia after injury

Romeo Lavia is available for the Brighton clash, but it’s not been confirmed as to whether he will even play a part as Maresca stated this.

“Romeo is available for tomorrow… We have one more session now and then we decide. The important thing is that finally he’s back.”

The midfielder signed for a whopping £53 million back in the summer of 2023, but he’s not quite been able to prove himself just yet due to a number of injuries.

Interestingly, the Chelsea boss is very excited about the prospect of having Lavia back and available, revealing that he wants to unleash him alongside Moises Caicedo.

Speaking in his press conference (as per Daily Mirror), Maresca said this.

“I’m very excited thinking that soon we can have both Moi and Romeo fit 100% because I think both together playing that position they can give us a lot.

“They can compete and they can play together for sure.”

Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia’s record together at Chelsea

Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia have only played alongside each other once this season, which came in a start against Manchester City on the opening day of the season.

However, an injury suffered by Lavia has seen him miss a number of games.

The pair did play together at times during pre-season, as well as once against Crystal Palace last season.

With Enzo Fernandez coming under fire at times with Danny Murphy believing fans would prefer to have Conor Gallagher in his position.
