Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are now insisting that Ian Maatsen extends his contract and commits his future to the club.
He took to YouTube to state that there will be little hesitation in selling him it he does not sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
Maatsen has seemingly out of nowhere played himself into Mauricio Pochettino’s thinking for Chelsea this season.

Off the back of a very impressive pre-season campaign, he is now a genuine option to start near enough anywhere for the Blues.
Coming on at half-time on Monday night, the 21-year-old directly replaced Mykhailo Mudryk on the left wing.
This is despite playing the majority of football in his career as a recognised left-back.
Some opportunities may yet arise in his natural position, following the recent news that Ben Chilwell is going to be out for an extended period of time.
Another hamstring issue has plagued the vice-captain, and that position now has certainly less competition.
However, his future is not yet secure as he is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Romano has said he will have to do this soon if he is to remain at the club.

He said: “Maatsen is out of contract in the summer and Chelsea want him to sign a new deal as soon as possible.
“The proposal is still on the table. Chelsea are still insisting on extending his contract, at the moment there is still no agreement, but the conversations will continue, they will keep pushing. But if nothing is done by the end of the year, Chelsea will consider again the opportunity to sell him.”
Despite Chilwell’s issue, the turn in form for Marc Cucurella is going to make it very difficult for Maatsen to get regular minutes.
