While all the attention has been on a potential new defender coming in during the January transfer window, it looks as if that is not the only position they are looking at this month.

As always, the Blues have been linked with a number of top players, as they look to strengthen their squad depth that has been demolished as of late due to a number of injuries.

Yesterday saw Chelsea linked with the signing of Kobbie Mainoo, as the wait for a return from injury for Romeo Lavia goes on.

A new attacker is no doubt on the agenda too, with Mykhailo Mudryk remaining unavailable for selection.

One of the players Chelsea have been linked with in the past is Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and this has remained the case as he enjoys an excellent campaign with Borussia Dortmund.

Fabrizio Romano has stated that the Blues are one of the clubs who have sent scouts to watch the winger this season.

He said: “My understanding is they feel that in 2025 it’s going to be difficult to keep Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, because the interest is more than strong. Premier League clubs are really following Bynoe-Gittens closely.

“Keep an eye on many clubs. For example, scouts from Liverpool, scouts from Chelsea and more clubs have been in attendance.”

Some at Chelsea will already have been aware of his talents after he spent a brief time of his youth career at Cobham.

Jadon Sancho a massive fan of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens

Current Chelsea star Jadon Sancho briefly played alongside Bynoe-Gittens last season while he was on loan at Dortmund, and has been left very impressed by the youngster.

Sancho was quick to praise Bynoe-Gittens after a Champions League game earlier this season, a competition the Blues are desperate to return to.

The Manchester United loanee has helped them towards this goal this season, however a recent slump in form for the club as a whole sees them dangerously close to dropping out the top four.
