One talented attacker has gone from strength to strength since Chelsea sold him in 2024.

We’ve certainly noticed a huge turnover of the Chelsea squad under the current Blues ownership, so there are many former players now shining away from Stamford Bridge.

The likes of Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz and Callum Hudson-Odoi have done well since moving away from West London in recent years. Pulisic used to feel so much pressure at Chelsea, but now he’s shining as a talisman at AC Milan.

Former Chelsea winger Angelo Gabriel in superb form for Al-Nassr

Chelsea sold Angelo Gabriel to Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr in a deal worth around £19m (The Telegraph) in 2024.

The 20-year-old Brazilian star never made his competitive debut for Chelsea. Instead, the young winger spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan with Strasbourg before joining Al-Nassr on a permanent basis.

Angelo is certainly making his impact for a side that also includes superstar names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Marcelo Brozovic. During his debut season with Al-Nassr, he’s scored two goals and created seven assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.

In particular, Angelo has found top form in recent weeks, creating 13 chances in his last three appearances.

Chelsea supporters understood Angelo’s sale at the start of the season because the club will welcome 17-year-old wonderkid Estevao Willian to Stamford Bridge in 2025.

Even if it’s frustrating that the Blues couldn’t find room for Angelo in their squad, it looks like the transfer to Al-Nassr is working out well for him. Angelo has assisted Ronaldo twice this season as he plays alongside one of the greatest footballers ever.

Kendry Paez must not follow Angelo Gabriel path

The only chance Chelsea supporters got to see of Angelo wearing their colours was in pre-season. Hopefully, 17-year-old prospect Kendry Paez doesn’t follow that same trend.

It was officially announced back in 2023 that Chelsea will sign Paez from Independiente del Valle after his 18th birthday, which is only in a couple of months time.

Paez is already training with Chelsea as he adjusts to life in English football and works towards next season.

The biggest concern should be regarding whether the teenage attacking midfielder can force his way into the first-team squad because there’s so much competition to do so. Chelsea need to prove to the many rising stars they sign that there’s a genuine chance of making it with them.
