How Joao Felix actually feels about joining Chelsea this summer

Chelsea have been strongly linked with bringing back one of their former players in a surprising transfer this summer.

Reports have claimed that the Blues are in discussions over the potential signing of Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.

It is believed this deal has largely cropped up after the potential Conor Gallagher sale to the same club was thrown into doubt.

This is because Chelsea’s expected signing of Samu Omorodion collapsed at the final moment, with it looking as if there is no way back for that particular deal.

Felix was certainly a divisive figure during his previous time at Stamford Bridge. It has to be noted though that he was brought in at an impossible time for any Chelsea players to succeed.

Joao Felix keen to join Chelsea

Despite the bad moment the club were in, it doesn’t seem to have put him off playing in West London.

Journalist Matt Law has stated that the Portugal international would be keen on joining the Blues again.

He said: “Full article to follow but, as reported elsewhere overnight, Chelsea’s move for Samu Omorodion was called off at the last minute with no current expectation of it being revived or renegotiated.

“Chelsea have been offered Joao Felix, who has expressed a desire to rejoin the club.”

Questions over where Felix will play for Chelsea

Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku were both not at the club when Felix was last here, and both have big arguments to start in the role where the attacker will feel most comfortable on the pitch.

Chelsea supporters don’t seem too convinced that the Atletico man is the one they need at the club right now, with other areas needing to be addressed instead.

With Omorodion not coming to the club, there is likely still an appetite for a new out-and-out striker, with rumours of Victor Osimhen coming refusing to go away.

With Napoli’s desire to sign Romelu Lukaku, this one could run all the way until deadline day.
