‘Interested’: Thomas Tuchel wants new managerial job that Klopp has already ruled himself out of – journalist

Journalist Christian Falk has claimed that Thomas Tuchel would be interested in taking the Germany manager’s job if it becomes available.

Hansi Flick secured a reputation as one of the best in the world when he was manager of Bayern Munich, eventually seeing him take over as boss of the national team.

After the embarrassing group stage exit in the 2018 World Cup, a rebuild was necessary to keep Germany as a powerhouse in the international game.

Their efforts in Qatar failed to impress. Despite some late Kai Havertz heroics, it was back-to-back first round exits for the 2014 winners.

This has obviously asked questions about whether they can continue on the route they are going, with Flick at the helm.

Falk has claimed that while Jurgen Klopp has already ruled himself out of a move to manage the national team, Tuchel would be intrigued by the prospect of taking over his country.

Tuchel interested in Germany job

He said: “True Thomas Tuchel would be interested in the job: Germany manager. Jürgen Klopp is not.”

The 2021 Champions League mastermind has not been seen managing since he was sacked as manager of Chelsea earlier this season.

A difference in opinions between himself and new owner Todd Boehly saw things eventually not work out, with it being claimed that the decision was not made on a performance basis.

Tuchel has previously reportedly made it clear that he would be happy to take the role as England manager if it came available after the World Cup.

However, with how well the Three Lions are performing at the tournament in Qatar, there is no evidence yet to suggest Gareth Southgate will leave his post after this tournament.

With Tuchel showing he is somewhat of an expert when it comes to tournament football, he would be a sensational appointment for either international side.
