All the talk around Chelsea right now seems to be focusing around one player in particular.
Cole Palmer somehow managed to reach new heights in the 4-2 win over Brighton at Stamford Bridge, with him scoring all four goals in the first half of the game.
The Seagulls manager Fabian Hurzeler admitted that he didn’t know how to stop Palmer, and that was proven correct as he scored from all sorts of scenarios to send the Blues into the top four.

Perhaps a sign of just how good he is right now is that he was left annoyed that he didn’t actually score more than the four goals he did.
There have been plenty of comparisons to other top Premier League players, with an easy one being Phil Foden after his history of playing for Manchester City.
Carragher puts Palmer as better than Foden
While Jamie Carragher gave the current Citizen his player of the season award for last season, he has now stated that he actually thinks Palmer has been better since he joined Chelsea.
He said to Sky Sports: “Last season I was a little bit reticent to say that he was the best player in the Premier League. It actually felt he was, but the fact that Chelsea hadn’t has such a great season. And I ended up going for Foden just above him and most people thought the same, as Foden got the two player of the year awards, but inside I felt he was the best player in the Premier League.
“And on the back of last season and this season, if he carries on this again through this season, I think he is the best player in the Premier League, I do. He is not playing with the absolute elite, sort of Manchester City, he has moved on from there.”
“I absolutely adore Phil Foden, but Cole Palmer has to play in the England team. Right now, there is no better player in the Premier League over the last 15 months.”
Maresca getting the best out of Palmer
Enzo Maresca seems to have found out how to get the best out of Palmer right now, with his position changing since the first game of the season against City.
He now operates in a more central role, where everything goes through him to the benefit of his other attackers.
The relationship he has formed on the pitch with Nicolas Jackson has proven to be seriously effective for Chelsea.
With all the attacking depth the Blues have at their disposal, it looks as if Palmer remains the first name on the teamsheet every week.
This has forced Joao Felix to remain patient on the bench for his opportunity for a regular run in the team.
