Joe Cole lists his three dream Chelsea signings including former Blue

If Joe Cole owned Chelsea, it is quite clear that he would be very ambitious in the transfer market.

Cole has been discussing where Chelsea need to strengthen and who he would like to see arrive at Stamford Bridge.

Cole would welcome the addition of Marcus Rashford, though the Manchester United outcast is not one of his dream signings.

Joe Cole would love to see Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Antonio Rudiger at Chelsea

In an ideal world, Cole would sign Real Madrid trio Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Antonio Rudiger if he could.

There is no chance of any of those names arriving in west London, though, especially Mbappe.

In an interview with The Sun, Cole said: “Chelsea need goals in the front three, an experienced centre-back, and then possibly a goalkeeper to push the goalkeepers that are already there. It’s hard for me to say who they should go for, because I’d love Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Antonio Rudiger.”

Vinicius Jr has been linked with Chelsea in the past, while Rudiger has a connection with the club after playing at Stamford Bridge for five years. Nevertheless, they would all be unrealistic targets for Chelsea.

The Blues are set to strengthen their defence and attack this summer. Chelsea are working on four targets, and two of them are thought to be a central defender and versatile attacker.

But the players they sign are not going to be in the same category as Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

Chelsea’s days of signing superstars like Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr are over

There was a time when Chelsea did go after the biggest names in the game. In the end, the signing never worked out, but the Blues bringing in Andriy Shevchenko from AC Milan in 2006 would probably be the equivalent of landing an Mbappe or Vinicius Jr today.

Deco did not exactly set Stamford Bridge alight either, but he was also another massive and established name Chelsea managed to sign in the past.

Under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, though, Chelsea are no longer interested in signing Champions League winners and World Cup stars. Rather, they want young players who could go on to become those things.
