All the talk surrounding Chelsea right now seems to be focusing on one player in particular.
Cole Palmer has stolen all the headlines as of late at Stamford Bridge, seen most notably with his four-goal performance at the weekend against Brighton.
It didn’t take long for praise to come his way. Jamie Carragher insisted that he is the best player in the Premier League right now.

Part of this has seen him compared to some of the best players through the years to feature for Chelsea, with his impact on the club similar to how Eden Hazard led the Blues for years.
This doesn’t seem to have gone down too well with John Obi Mikel, especially when comparisons have been made surrounding his former teammate Frank Lampard.
Mikel tells Chelsea fans to calm down about Cole Palmer
The Nigerian said on the ‘Obi One Podcast’ that he wanted Chelsea fans to calm down with comparing Palmer to the club’s all-time top scorer.
He said: “Let’s calm down a bit. He is an amazing footballer, he is an amazing talent. I just don’t like it when people start to compare his numbers with Lampard, who got double figures 10 years in a row.”
With how well Palmer is playing, it is perhaps hard for fans to not overreact in the moment.
Enzo Maresca playing Palmer centrally
Enzo Maresca seems to have found how to get even more out of his star player this season, with him operating in a more central role than he was under Mauricio Pochettino.
This has allowed an extra attacker to feature in the side on a regular basis, with Noni Madueke being the benefactor so far this season.
He has been under pressure though from Pedro Neto after he joined in the summer, with Maresca seeming to think he is best suited to a right wing position.
Despite all the attacking options, Palmer is one name who is certainly going to be on the teamsheet for every big game.
