While a number of the Chelsea first team squad continue to impress while representing their countries, it is a saga taking place off the pitch.
There is a reported rift between owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, with the situation looking impossible to save at this stage.
The pair met last month, where the process of changing things up at the helm was discussed, however neither party is willing to back down from what they already have.

Chelsea fans seem very much on Boehly’s side in this debacle, however the American does have fewer shares in the club than his counterpart.
With plenty of people in the game having opinions on the new Chelsea owners since they came in two years ago, the situation seems to be now at a point of no return.
‘Extremely strange’ Boehly and Eghbali relations
Journalist Rory Smith has told ‘The Monday Night Club’ that some of the details of the saga can be described as ‘extremely strange’.
He said: “Todd Boehly thinks that Clearlake are a little bit too quick to act and are maybe a little bit obsessive over trading players.
“Clearlake feel that those allegations aren’t true and they would maybe like to remove Boehly from the equation entirely.
“The whole thing is extremely strange. Everything that has happened with Chelsea, from the point that Todd Boehly and Clearlake took over, is really odd.”
Boehly has long vision at Chelsea
Boehly reportedly has a 30-year vision for the club, and is not willing to give up his place as chairman of the club.
Chelsea supporters would much rather the attention be what is going on with the playing staff as they prepare for their return to Premier League action this weekend against Bournemouth.
They were handed a boost already by the emergence of Cole Palmer in first team training, after he left the England camp following an injury concern.
