Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang took to Instagram to praise his former teammate Emi Martinez after he won the World Cup yesterday.
The duo were teammates together at Arsenal, a combination that was too much for the Blues in the FA Cup final in 2020.
As Martinez was enjoying his breakthrough into Premier League football, Aubameyang was scoring a brace to allow Mikel Artreta’s side to win it at Wembley.

Now, the striker is searching for form at Stamford Bridge, while the goalkeeper is producing heroics in World Cup finals.
Despite conceding three in the two-hour long epic, he made a string of impressive saves, including one in the final seconds.
He then went on to win the mind games in the penalty shootout, saving from reported Chelsea target Kingsley Coman.

He may also claim the assist for Aurelien Tchouameni’s penalty miss. He threw the ball away before the midfielder eventually sent his kick wide.
Aubameyang took to Instagram with a message of support for the newly crowned World Cup winner, who also picked up the Golden Glove award.
He said: “Another incredible match. Well deserved brother.”

While many have been looking to make history in Qatar, Aubameyang has been working hard on his game with the Chelsea squad who were not representing their countries.
He will be hoping that time on the training ground with new manager Graham Potter is the perfect remedy to rediscover his goalscoring touch.
He has just three goals since joining the Blues, two of which coming in the Champions League.
With Armando Broja’s season looking like it’s over due to his knee injury, there is a real lack of central attacking options at Stamford Bridge.
This means those at the club, including Aubameyang, will be handed a priceless opportunity to step up and be earn their place as the number one option going forwards.
