Today has marked the end of Chelsea legend Jose Mourinho’s time as Roma manager.

The Portuguese manager today saw his tenure with the Serie A side come to an end, leaving the club in ninth in the table.

His impact will not be forgotten though, bringing the club the UEFA Conference League as well as a place in the final of the Europa League last season.

He leaves behind a talented squad that is being led up front by Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku who has taken the striker role from fellow former Blue Tammy Abraham in the Italian capital.

It has not taken long for Blues fans to react to the news that he had been sacked, with some taking to social media to give their opinion on what should happen next in his career.

Chelsea fans on Mourinho

One user tweeted: “We want him back, I speak for all Chelsea fans in the world.”

Another stated: “Todd Boehly sack Mauricio Pochettino now and bring on Jose Mourinho.”

A third simply claimed: “Get him to Chelsea immediately.”

All the reports recently have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino’s status as Chelsea manager is currently safe, after he hit a number of targets set to him over the festive period.

However, it has to be stated that if the Blues are unable to turn things around in the EFL Cup semi-final against Middlesbrough.

The competition poses the club’s best chance at silverware this season, and therefore there will be plenty of importance placed on at least making it to Wembley.

Mourinho’s name did not escape reports when the owners at Chelsea took plenty of time in hiring the right candidate for the role before this season got underway, and therefore you could imagine a world where he would be linked with a sensational return if things went wrong for Pochettino.
