Reports have claimed that some staff at Chelsea believe they are making themselves weaker by starting one player at the moment.
According to the Guardian, there is a belief that the club are beginning to make too many compromises by starting Thiago Silva at the back.
Silva saw himself named on the bench in the last Chelsea match at Villa Park, where they successfully booked their place in the next round of the FA Cup against the odds.

Chelsea supporters were seemingly not to keen on this decision, chanting the veterans name from the outset and continuing to do so throughout the 90 minutes.
The decision to not start him seemed to match up with his wife, Belle’s, social media statement that seemed to call out what was happening on the pitch at Chelsea.
While the manager claimed this wasn’t the case, it is easy to see why some people put two and two together there.
Staff at Chelsea think they’re weaker with Silva
Despite the opposition to his benching, the decision seemed to pay off for Mauricio Pochettino, with them putting in a top performance at the back without him.
The pairing of Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile put on a clinic against Aston Villa, although the latter has been ruled out for about a month as a result of his recent injury.
However, there is no guarantee that this will see Silva, who teammate Conor Gallagher described as ‘massive’ return to the starting side off the back of the recent return to fitness for Levi Colwill.
Having a more dynamic option to cover an attacking full-back is certainly something which works better when playing with a back four.
With Badiashile reportedly ruled out of the EFL Cup final set to place at the end of this month, Pochettino has a big decision over who he will want to start at the back against Liverpool.
