‘Super’ Chelsea player beats Cole Palmer in shooting competition during training

Chelsea supporters may be surprised to hear who came out on top during a recent shooting drill in training.

There’s a lot of talented goalscorers when you go through the Chelsea squad, which is why it’s no surprise that they’ve been free-scoring under Enzo Maresca.

So far this season, the Blues have netted 47 goals in 19 games across all competitions.

Maresca, the Chelsea manager, has definitely given his group of players the licence to attack with real pace and directness. As a result, they look far more potent going forward compared to last year under Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea already consider Maresca a long-term appointment after a strong first few months of the club, so fans of attacking football will be happy.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall wins Chelsea shooting drill in training

Chelsea shared via Instagram that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, 26, came out on top during a squad competition in training at Cobham.

The Blues midfielder won the shooting competition where players have to score inside the penalty arc, beating teammates such as Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke.

Blues attacker Palmer, 22, may be the calmest in front of goal when it comes to a matchday. But he, along with his teammates, were outdone by Dewsbury-Hall in training.

It’s a testament to the midfielder that he’s still catching the eye in training during a time when he’s struggling for minutes. Maresca is “very happy” with Dewsbury-Hall at Chelsea, but he can’t find a way to get him into the side on a regular basis.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall should start vs Heidenheim

It’s still zero starts in the Premier League for Dewsbury-Hall during his debut Chelsea season, although he did come off the bench on Saturday in the 2-1 win against former club Leicester City.

Hopefully, the box-to-box central midfielder is recalled to the starting line-up for Thursday’s Conference League group stage match away to German top-flight side Heidenheim.

Pat Nevin wants “super” Chelsea midfielder Dewsbury-Hall to play more, but he’s got extreme competition for a starting position in the squad.

Remarkably, Chelsea are tipped to get rid of Dewsbury-Hall in 2025, despite the fact they only signed him in the summer.
