Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga became one of the Premier League’s youngest debutants on Monday night, and Chelsea know a lot about investing huge faith into rising stars.
The current Blues squad is already stacked with plenty of youngsters, plus they’re officially signing teenage stars such as Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez later in 2025. Apparently, Chelsea are super excited by Estevao because they think he could be a special part of their side next season
On Monday night, Jeremy Monga came off the bench during Leicester’s 3-0 home defeat against Newcastle United.
The 15-year-old winger made his Premier League debut, becoming the second youngest debutant in the division’s history. Incidentally, only Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri (15 years 181 days) was younger.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, who’s now thriving at Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest, was so highly rated when he came through the ranks at Cobham. Chelsea must regret selling Hudson-Odoi in 2023 because of the player he’s becoming, which should come as no surprise to supporters.
Ethan Ampadu
Ethan Ampadu played 12 first-team games in Chelsea colours, including a Premier League debut in 2017. Now, Ampadu claims he’s found a home at Leeds United after moving to Elland Road on a permanent basis in 2023.
Shumaira Mheuka
Shumaira Mheuka is the only player to feature who’s in the current Chelsea squad. The 17-year-old striker only made his top-flight debut less than two months ago after being rewarded by Enzo Maresca.
Ben Sahar
Perhaps the most unrecognisable name here, Ben Sahar played five times in Chelsea colours as a youngster, including three Premier League appearances. The attacker has gone on and carved out a decent career elsewhere, especially with Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

Chelsea interested in signing Jeremy Monga
Earlier this year, Chelsea’s name popped up in the transfer rumour mill alongside Leicester’s wonderkid Monga.
It was reported in February that Chelsea were keeping a close eye on Monga after he started to train with the Foxes first team. Apparently, he’s also receiving interest from the likes of Manchester City, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Now that Monga has made his senior debut in Leicester colours, which was made even more special by the fact it was in the Premier League, it’ll be interesting to see whether he ends up staying at the King Power Stadium or not.
His profile definitely fits Chelsea’s transfer policy in recent seasons, but the supporters must be getting tired of all these signings for the future.
