Journalist Liam Twomey has now claimed that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is currently getting on really well with one of his players.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live that his relationship with Cole Palmer is in a very strong place at this stage.

Palmer has established himself as an undroppable member of Pochettino’s squad right now off the back of his great start to life in London.

He has found the net four times already, including strikes against Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City.

At the age of just 21, he is performing to the level of the most important player on the team, so soon after he joined from City.

Even Pochettino has hinted he has been surprised by the levels he has reached so quickly at the club, and how he is now bringing the best out of a number of teammates.

Pochettino strong relationship with Palmer

Now, Twomey has claimed that the relationship between the pair is really strong, as they prepare for their own challenges to come as part of the international break.

He said: “From what I’m hearing, the relationship between Cole Palmer and Mauricio Pochettino is a real positive, so that’s great.”

The break is coming at arguably the worst time possible for the Blues, who have just claimed four points from games against Tottenham and Manchester City.

One person who is likely to join the break from club football though is Palmer, who is going to be part of the senior England squad for the very first time.

While it is unclear if he will get any minutes, the magnitude of fixtures the Three Lions face suggest that opportunities could arise for the youngster to continue his good form on the national stage.
