During the international break, there has been one Chelsea story that has been dominating the headlines.

It has not involved the players either. Instead, it has revolved around Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali at the helm of the club.

The duo met last month, and it now looks as if the situation between the two is past the point of no return after their recent rift became clear.

There are a number of things they reportedly disagree on, with Boehly one of those who backed Mauricio Pochettino to stay on as Chelsea manager.

This was a decision that some of the players were reportedly on board with. Nicolas Jackson was one of those aggrieved by the decision to remove the Argentine after just one season at the club.

Enzo Maresca is likely in for some questions at his next press conference about the ongoing situation, and how it could affect his players just three Premier League games into his Chelsea tenure.

According to BBC Sport though, sources close to the first team squad are insistent that whatever is going on in the boardroom will not impact their performances on the pitch.

Maresca has already experienced all three results as a Chelsea manager, and will be looking to get his second top flight win of the season when the action returns at the weekend against Bournemouth.

Chelsea going through injury crisis

The Italian is seeing his side go through some form of an injury crisis, with no recognised fit first team right-back available after Malo Gusto’s recent issue.

There will also likely be no Romeo Lavia either, despite original optimism he would be fit for the return of the Premier League.

Those issues were added to by Filip Jorgensen being forced off while representing his nation last night, with the extremity of the issue not yet known by the club.
