There is a bit of irony in Javier Pastore trying to help Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez find a new club.
Pastore is Fernandez’s agent and has gone on record more than once to state that his client wants to leave Stamford Bridge.
In a recent interview, Pastore again confirmed that Fernandez is exploring his options despite still having six years remaining on his contract.
Enzo Fernandez needs to leave Chelsea for the good of the club 👋🏻
Thoughts?
While Chelsea had a season to forget, they are still one of the biggest clubs in the world. The way that Pastore and Fernandez are handling things, you would think that they are trying to escape a side who were just relegated!
The way everything is being played out in public is disrespectful, while Pastore should not forget that he himself was once desperate to join the Blues.
In 2009, after a rumoured bid from Chelsea, Pastore, who was playing for Palermo at the time, told the media that it would be a “dream” to represent the English club.
In an interview with ESPN Deportes, which was relayed by Sky Sports, he said: “I honestly didn’t know anything about the Chelsea offer.
“It is one of the biggest teams in the world, always fighting for all the cups and it would be incredible to be there. If I can play there some day, it would be a dream come true.”

Fast forward to the present, and Pastore is now a football agent trying to get one of his clients out of Stamford Bridge.
He is running out of options, though. Manchester City are no longer in the running after prioritising Elliot Anderson instead of Fernandez, while Paris Saint-Germain’s interest appears to have cooled.
That leaves just Real Madrid, who are thought to be keen on Fernandez. However, Chelsea’s reported £120m price tag is proving to be prohibitive, and they have no reason to lower it.
Again, Fernandez’s contract does not expire until 2032, and there are inferior midfielders going for £85m and £100m. Chelsea paid more than that for the Argentine, who is now a better player than he was when they first signed him.
Pastore can give 100 interviews about Fernandez’s desire to leave west London, but Chelsea hold all the power here.
