Chelsea could have the opportunity to sign one of their recent targets in the near future.
After failing to land Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window, Chelsea are likely to go back into the market for a centre-forward.
Darren Bent has doubts about Chelsea returning for Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray following his failed move to west London.
The Blues did look at other names during the summer, such as Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, so it is certainly possible that they do turn to somebody else.

Chelsea were interested in Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak
Last season, Isak scored 21 goals in 30 Premier League appearances, and that was seemingly enough to catch Chelsea’s attention.
According to TBR, Isak was on their radar, but the 24-year-old remained at Newcastle and could sign a new contract there.
However, TBR’s report states that any new deal is set to include a release clause, with Isak adamant on one being included.
It is good news for Chelsea if they still retain an interest in the Sweden international. Newcastle wanted more than £150m for Isak in the summer, making him a non-starter for the Blues at the time.
Should Chelsea make a move for Alexander Isak in 2025?
If Chelsea still want to sign a striker and Isak has a release clause in his contract, then yes. The former Real Sociedad man is one of the best No.9s in the country.
Since his £60m move to St James’ Park, Isak has scored 36 goals in 71 outings for the Magpies.
Without a release clause, though, it seems pretty pointless to target Isak again, especially if Newcastle are going to be demanding a £150m-plus fee.
While the transfer window remains closed, Enzo Maresca will have to be content with Nicolas Jackson, which he does seem to be.
“We are very happy with him,” Maresca said when discussing Jackson last month. The 23-year-old has scored two goals and provided one assist in three Premier League games so far, so he really should not be on his manager’s bad side right now.
