It’s no great surprise that individuals are starting to leave Chelsea at a rapid rate this summer.
The Blues have already recruited superbly well to bring some quality players to Stamford Bridge in this transfer window, but it means there are plenty that need to leave through the exit doors.
For instance, the likes of Noni Madueke, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Djordje Petrovic, Bashir Humphreys, and Mathis Amougou have all been sold this summer. Chelsea have several unwanted players training at Cobham that they are looking to move on, too.
The speculation points towards Renato Veiga, 21, being one of the players that could yet leave Chelsea.
Veiga is expected to be sold by Chelsea this summer because they can’t guarantee the versatile defender minutes at centre-half. The Portugal international covered impressively at left-back for the Blues in the first half of last season before joining Juventus on loan.

Atletico Madrid could face late competition for Renato Veiga
Reports this week claim that Chelsea are close to selling Veiga to Atletico Madrid as the deal enters its final stages.
However, according to The Evening Standard, Spanish giants Atletico could face very late competition from two unnamed Premier League clubs for the Chelsea defender.
Apparently, two unnamed top-flight teams in England are weighing up whether to move for Veiga, which would be a fascinating late twist in the summer transfer saga.
The report adds that Chelsea consider Veiga’s sale a ‘priority’ for them this summer as they hold out for more than €40m (£35m).

Levi Colwill has blocked Renato Veiga’s path at Chelsea
It will be a shame to see Veiga leave the club because he’s a super talented youngster with a huge future ahead of him.
Veiga has been desperate to play centre-back, something he does on the international stage with Portugal. Unfortunately, his path into the Chelsea XI is blocked by Englishman Levi Colwill.
Veiga and Colwill, two ball-playing left-footed defenders, have plenty of similarities in their game. It’s the latter who has firmly cemented his position in Chelsea’s best line-up, though.
There definitely would have been a role for Veiga in Chelsea’s squad moving forward if he was more flexible with his position, but it sounds like the right move for all parties to cash in for him this summer.
