Borussia Dortmund have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka this summer. It turns out that the German club have set their sights on another Blues player, too.
Carney Chukwuemeka, 21, spent the second half of last season with Dortmund, and he’s been tipped for a potential return.
Apparently, Dortmund have been discussing Chukwuemeka for weeks because they want to re-sign him on loan, but the Blues are refusing to budge on their stance that they only want to let him go on a permanent basis.
It’s worth noting that Chelsea are ready to lower Chukwuemeka’s asking price to just £21.5m in order to help the English attacking midfielder secure a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Borussia Dortmund ask about Christopher Nkunku
Journalist Simon Phillips claims via Substack on Thursday morning that Dortmund have enquired about signing Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku.
It is explained that the Bundesliga outfit have offered some kind of loan deal, which doesn’t interest Stamford Bridge officials because they are focused on selling him. Apparently, the Blues are still hopeful of sorting a deal for the 27-year-old attacker to leave the club this summer.
It’s no real surprise that the Frenchman is linked with a permanent exit after two ordinary years at Chelsea, where he’s struggled to hit the same kind of form he previously showed at RB Leipzig.

Chelsea are prepared to sell Nkunku amid interest from the likes of Manchester Utd, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, and Bayern Munich. We can now add Dortmund to the list of suitors, but they will need to change their loan offer to a permanent deal.

Joao Pedro to be an upgrade on Christopher Nkunku
In his Chelsea career so far, Nkunku has played across a variety of different attacking positions, including as a No.10, No.9, and a winger. However, he doesn’t get enough opportunities in his preferred No.10 role because of Cole Palmer’s brilliance.
Joao Pedro, 23, joined the Blues from Brighton earlier this summer, and it feels like he can fill the Nkunku void.
The Brazilian forward, who made a sensational start to his Chelsea career at the Club World Cup, can definitely lead the line with his profile. On top of that, he’s got the versatility to cover multiple positions, something we think he can do a bit easier than Nkunku.
Blues head coach Enzo Maresca claims Pedro is superb in tight areas, so he could be key in unlocking low blocks in the new season.
