Chelsea could lose out on one of their targets to Premier League rivals Manchester United this summer.

A couple of attacking additions at Chelsea are likely, with a new striker almost certain to arrive at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are being linked with Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt, while Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap is also thought to be high on their list.

In terms of the wide positions, the Blues could make a move for Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo, who has impressed at the Vitality Stadium this season.

Manchester United frontrunners for Antoine Semenyo’s signature

Semenyo is a target for Chelsea, who may not have Jadon Sancho and Mykhailo Mudryk as options next season.

However, right now, United look to be the favourites for the 25-year-old’s signature. According to Sky Sports, the Red Devils are the frontrunners in the race to sign £70m-rated Semenyo.

The same outlet also claims that the Premier League‘s big six, other than Arsenal, have all shown some interest in the Ghana international.

Semenyo has been one of Bournemouth’s top performers this season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in 31 top-flight appearances.

He is not the only wide attacker the Blues are interested in signing, though. It is thought that Chelsea are the favourites to land Jamie Gittens in the summer transfer window.

Whether it is Semenyo or Gittens, if Sancho returns to United and Mudryk remains unavailable, Chelsea will have to sign a new winger.

The teams Antoine Semenyo has scored against this season

Chelsea and United are well aware of what Semenyo is capable of, with the Bournemouth star scoring against both teams in the current campaign.

Semenyo netted in Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea in January after punishing Ruben Amorim’s side in a 3-0 win towards the end of December.

He has also scored against Manchester City, showing that the former Bristol City man can deliver in big games.

Chelsea would still be taking a big risk by spending £70m on Semenyo, though. He is still not the finished article, with the wide man needing to improve his end product.
