Chelsea have reportedly already communicated with a top-level striker and told him they plan to try to sign him in the January transfer window.
Despite all the speculation in the summer transfer window, Chelsea failed to add another striker in the final few days.
The Blues are left with Nicolas Jackson as their main No.9, who’s scored two goals in four games so far this season. Journalist Fabrizio Romano recently claimed via YouTube that Chelsea believe Jackson’s value has skyrocketed since he joined last year.
However, the failure to sign another forward means 18-year-old youngster Marc Guiu is the only out-and-out replacement to lead the line. Alternatively, versatile attackers such as Joao Felix or Christopher Nkunku can cover at striker.

Chelsea plan Victor Osimhen raid in January
Victor Osimhen, 25, is a high-profile attacker who’s been at the centre of transfer speculation this summer. Eventually, he left Napoli this week to join Galatasaray on a season-long loan, which does include a mid-season break clause.
Journalist Kagan Dursun reports that Chelsea are one of the clubs Osimhen has said can sign him for his new release clause in January.
Journalist Simon Phillips now claims via Substack that Chelsea are still weighing up a possible big move for Osimhen in the New Year.
It is explained that the Blues have communicated to both Napoli and Osimhen that they are going to re-convene for a January move soon, although for any transfer to happen there will need to be some serious negotiating. Despite his arrival in Turkey with Galatasaray, the 25-year-old frontman would still love to join Chelsea if the wages are right for him.
Phillips confirms that there’s January break clause in his Galatasaray loan that can only be triggered by certain clubs, including Chelsea.
Victor Osimhen to Chelsea still alive
It certainly sounds like Osimhen could still end up playing at Stamford Bridge at a later date, which would be good news for Chelsea supporters.
The Nigeria international is a proven goalscorer, something the Blues are crying out for. His record of 65 goals in 108 Serie A appearances speaks for itself. We certainly expect him to score goals for fun this season in the Turkish league.
Speaking via The Rest Is Football earlier this year, Gary Lineker hailed Osimhen as an “incredibly quick” striker with lots of quality. If Chelsea can pull off this deal in the New Year, it could be a huge moment in their season.
