One of the Chelsea players who is currently away from the first team squad has hinted that he could still be in for a move away, despite the English transfer window being closed.

The Blues managed to part ways with a number of individuals who were out of Enzo Maresca’s plans as they made the most money a Premier League side ever has in a single transfer window.

Joao Felix, Lesley Ugochukwu and Armando Broja were amongst the list of players who left, however they did not manage to find a new home for everyone in the infamous ‘bomb squad’ at Stamford Bridge.

One of those who didn’t move was Axel Disasi, as he saw a potential dream move to Monaco scuppered by Nicolas Jackson.

Jackson’s deadline day loan to Bayern Munich took up their last possible abroad loan spot, meaning the Frenchman was unable to return to his former side.

Disasi has now shared that he was desperate to move to Monaco, however expects to find out in the next week what the future holds for him.

He said: “In the period between the approaches from Bournemouth and West Ham, Monaco arrived and that hit me emotionally. I had three incredible years at Monaco. When they came in, all the memories came back. Monaco is home.

“I hoped that Chelsea would find a solution to allow me to leave on loan. I pushed until the last minute to go to Monaco.

“Currently, my situation is that I’m continuing to train. By next week, I’ll know for sure what my future holds.”

Clubs still interested in signing Disasi this month

The transfer window is closed for Premier League sides now, although Disasi rejected English interest in the final hours of the summer.

However, there is still interest in the defender from clubs who can still make transfers this summer, potentially leaving the choice in his hands.

Disasi is more open to a move to Turkey than a potential switch to Saudi Arabia, with Chelsea likely working hard to find a solution for a player who is firmly out of the plans in West London.

The transfer window closes on Friday in Turkey, however remains open until September 23 in Saudi Arabia.
