Chelsea unlikely to land ‘fabulous’ player who is now set to sign £100m contract

It does not look like Chelsea will be signing one attacker next year as he closes in on a new deal at his current club.

Chelsea are not exactly lacking offensive options at this moment in time. Enzo Maresca has the likes of Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Pedro Neto and Christopher Nkunku, who can all play in positions behind the striker.

However, that has not stopped them from being linked with one of the best young attackers in the world.

Estevao Willian will also be joining Chelsea next year, so that is another name to add to the mix. Chelsea think they have hit the jackpot with Estevao, who has been in brilliant form for Palmeiras this season.

Jamal Musiala set to sign new contract at Bayern Munich

Former Chelsea academy player Jamal Musiala has a contract at Bayern Munich until 2026.

With it running down, it had been claimed that Chelsea were monitoring Musiala’s situation at the Allianz Arena.

However, the attacking midfielder returning to Cobham now looks extremely unlikely, if it did not already.

According to Sky Sport, Musiala is ready to sign a new contract at Bayern that could see him earn €120m (£100m) in four years. He was described as a “fabulous footballer” by Rio Ferdinand on TNT Sports earlier this year.

How does Jamal Musiala compare to Chelsea’s current attackers?

Musiala will be happy with his record in front of goal this season. In nine league appearances, the 21-year-old has scored five goals.

That puts him two behind Palmer and one above Madueke, for example. What Musiala is renowned for, though, is his dribbling.

Musiala is one of the best dribblers in the world, ranking in the 98th percentile for successful take-ons among attacking midfielders and wingers over the last year, as per FBref.

In Chelsea’s squad, Madueke is probably the only player who could rival him. All in all, Musiala would be an upgrade on all of Chelsea’s attackers bar Palmer, but it does not look like he will be joining Maresca’s side any time soon.
