It feels like the January transfer window is really kicking into gear now because there are numerous players linked with moves in and out of Chelsea.
On paper, the Chelsea squad is one of the very strongest across the entire Premier League. There may be one or two holes in Enzo Maresca’s group, though.
It’s going to be interesting to see what deals take place in the coming weeks, especially with stars that are looking for a way out.

Torino readying new bid for Cesare Casadei
Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei, who turns 22 today, is an individual strongly linked with a potential move away from Stamford Bridge this month.
Torino made a first attempt to sign Casadei from Chelsea by making an offer at the start of January. Now, it’s been claimed that the Italian club are returning with a second bid for the Blues youngster.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed via X that European side Torino are getting ready to make a new offer for Casadei, which will include an “important” sell-on clause. Serie A rivals appear to be withdrawing from the transfer race, though.
Napoli were leading the race to sign Chelsea’s Casdaei, but it appears that the box-to-box central midfielder won’t be joining up with Antonio Conte’s side.
Casadei has approved of a move to Torino, so will all parties be able to come to an agreement?
Should Chelsea get rid of Cesare Casadei?
It was a challenging 2024 for Casadei after spending most of it on the sidelines at Chelsea, so he should be granted a move in the New Year to allow him to get his career back on track.
The Italian midfielder has been on the fringes of the Blues squad for the last 12 months. It’s no easy job trying to compete with the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia for minutes, though.
In terms of this season, Casadei has barely had a look-in under Maresca, who’s someone he worked with during his loan at Leicester City.
| Competition | Appearances |
| Conference League | 5 |
| Carabao Cup | 1 |
| Premier League | 0 |
It would be great news for Casadei if Chelsea and Torino can come to an agreement during the current negotiations. If there’s a sell-on clause, it should be an attractive option for the Blues because the player is full of potential.
