It’s now less than 24 hours until the January transfer window officially opens, but will we see any players leave Chelsea in the New Year?
Enzo Maresca is doing a pretty decent job managing the talented Chelsea squad this season. However, it’s not possible for every individual to be happy with their minutes in the first half of the campaign.
Axel Disasi will push to leave Chelsea in January because he’s one of several first-team stars keen to play more.
Now, one of Disasi’s Blues teammates has been linked with a potential transfer exit away from Stamford Bridge.

Torino make offer for Chelsea’s Cesare Casadei
According to Gianclua Di Marzio, Italian top-flight side Torino have made an opening offer to sign Chelsea player Cesare Casadei in January.
It is understood that the Serie A club have presented an opening bid for the 21-year-old Blues midfielder.
Apparently, Torino are trying to buy Casadei from Chelsea on a permanent basis, but the offer on the table includes a buy-back clause.
The report adds that Lazio also share an interest in signing the Italian youngster. They’re yet to submit a bid of their own, though.
Chelsea will allow Casadei to leave in January after a quiet season so far. The central midfielder’s been part of the first-team group, making only six senior appearances across all competitions.
Chelsea boss Maresca has praised Casadei as “very big” and “physically strong” this season, but he’s only used him in cup competitions rather than the Premier League.
| Comeptition | Appearances |
| Conference League | 5 |
| Carabao Cup | 1 |
| Premier League | 0 |
Buy-back clause would be smart
Casadei is finding it very challenging to force his way into Chelsea’s first-team plans right now, but we like the idea of a buy-back clause because he could grow into something quite special in the years ahead.
Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola massively rates Casadei and is hopeful he carves out a future in West London. However, the player’s best career path may be a return to his homeland in 2025.
If the Italian youngster can go play consistently in Serie A, he’s got the physical and technical attributes to grow into a complete midfield.
