Fabrizio Romano has claimed in his column for CaughtOffside that both N’golo Kante and Jorginho are still not close to signing new contracts with Chelsea.
The pair are currently in the last year of their contracts at Stamford Bridge.
So far, any attempts to extend the stays of either midfielder have gone without success, especially in the case of Kante.

The Frenchman has reportedly rejected any current offer made by Todd Boehly to keep him at the club.
The American is apparently only willing to offer a two-year deal to the 31-year-old, with there being an option for a third.
Kante and Jorginho not close to new deals
Kante meanwhile wants as many as four years added to his deal, with the club currently unwilling to offer that based on his injury record.
As for the Italy international, there are some fears at the club that he is in the process of running down his contract in order to secure a return to Serie A this summer.
Those believing that will not be encouraged by Romano’s update, with their situations both not close to being resolved.

He said: “Chelsea fans have been asking me for updates, but I’m afraid there’s nothing agreed yet with N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.
“Both of them are still in talks with Chelsea but it’s not something close as of now. It will also depend on the board.
“As we know, Barcelona will monitor many free agents ahead of next summer, but they say it’s too early to see what happens on this situations regarding specific targets.”
Losing either player to Barcelona will no doubt be a sickener to Chelsea fans, with the Catalan club snatching a number of their transfer targets from under their noses over the summer.
