One Chelsea star is already thinking about a potential exit in 2025, according to Fabrizio Romano.

With such a big squad of talented players, Enzo Maresca will not be able to hand minutes to everyone this season.

Ben Chilwell, for example, already looks to be in trouble after the left-back was warned by Maresca during the summer transfer window that he would not get game time if he remained at Chelsea.

Carney Chukwuemeka is another player who is also likely to struggle for minutes. Despite the Blues having problems in midfield, he still could not make the bench for his side’s 1-0 win against Bournemouth over the weekend.

Ben Chilwell’s agents working on potential 2025 exit

The transfer window may have only closed at the end of last month, but it looks like Chilwell’s agents are already thinking about the next one.

It makes sense, with their client’s long-term future still up in the air. Discussing Chilwell’s current situation on The Here We Go Podcast, Romano said: “In January, the possibility for Chilwell to leave is going to be concrete again with his agents already exploring options for 2025.”

While he has returned to first-team training, Chilwell is still worried about how many minutes he is going to get under Maresca.

Based on what the Italian was saying over the summer, he is likely to get very little, if any at all.

Ben Chilwell’s agents should try and get him a move to another top Premier League club

Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town are interested in Chilwell. A move to the former would not be terrible, with the Eagles giving Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton the platform to become England internationals.

There, the 27-year-old may be able to win a recall to the Three Lions’ squad. However, the fact that Chilwell is already an established England international playing for Chelsea suggests he may be able to do better than Palace.

Chilwell was offered to Manchester United last month. They are the level of club his agents should be aiming for.

Chilwell is on a £200,000-a-week contract at Chelsea, according to Spotrac, so whether it is to United, Palace or someone else, the Blues will be hoping that they can shift him somewhere in the new year.
