Chelsea are trying to wrap up a deal for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho before the transfer window closes tonight.

It has been claimed that Chelsea are edging closer to signing Sancho, but there is still work for the Blues to do.

Enzo Maresca already has the likes of Pedro Neto and Mykhailo Mudryk for the left wing, while his employers are yet to offload Raheem Sterling.

Nevertheless, Chelsea still look keen on bringing Sancho to Stamford Bridge today.

Jadon Sancho gives Chelsea green light

If Chelsea can agree something with United, then it looks like Sancho will join Maresca’s side.

According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, the 24-year-old has made it clear to Chelsea that he wants to be part of their project.

On his potential move to west London, Romano posted on X: “Jadon Sancho gives total green light to Chelsea move, he’s keen on joining CFC project. Talks are taking place between Chelsea and Man United, deal currently ON.”

Chelsea could end up paying just £25m for Sancho, who cost United £73m when they signed him from Borussia Dortmund three years ago.

Chelsea’s project

Right now, Chelsea are clearly not where they want to be. The Blues are not competing for the Premier League title and are not in the Champions League.

However, they have a really exciting team full of talented players with a lot of potential. Eventually, eventually, it may all start to click.

Perhaps Sancho can see that and wants to be part of it. After all of the money the club’s owners have spent since coming in, with Sancho potentially set to be another purchase, things have got to start working out at some point.

Against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, there were some really promising signs after Chelsea managed to win 6-2. But the team then followed that up with a 2-1 loss in the Conference League last night.

Ultimately, it looks like it could be an up and down season for Chelsea. But again, with all of these new signings, it surely has to be only a matter of time before the club get back to where they once were.
