Manchester United paid big money to sign Chelsea target Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund back in 2021.

United bought Jadon Sancho in a deal worth over £70m, but the Red Devils will not get anything close to that if they sell him today.

In terms of potential destinations for the winger, he is being heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea plan to offload Raheem Sterling to facilitate Sancho’s arrival, though there is no guarantee that they will be successful with that, with the 29-year-old on huge wages.

Chelsea could get Jadon Sancho bargain

Again, United are set to make a heavy loss on Sancho. The England international has struggled during his time at Old Trafford, so the Manchester club are not going to receive big offers for him today.

Last season, for example, Sancho was only able to make three league appearances under Erik ten Hag before rejoining Dortmund on loan.

According to The Athletic, United could now sell Sancho to Chelsea for just £25m. While Sancho has found life difficult at Old Trafford, he is still a very talented winger.

Therefore, for £25m, the Blues could be getting an absolute bargain. Chelsea director Joe Shields remains a Sancho fan.

Why Jadon Sancho could be a bargain for Chelsea

Sancho is able to play on both wings and still a very capable dribbler. He could be a nice addition to Enzo Maresca‘s squad, especially for less than £30m.

As per FBref, Sancho has ranked in the 96th percentile for successful take-ons and the 87th for progressive carries among attacking midfielders and wingers over the last year.

The 24-year-old may not be racking up the same number of goals and assists he did during his first spell at Dortmund, but he is still managing to beat his opposing full-back.

Still, Chelsea have options in the wide positions. If they cannot sign Sancho before tonight’s deadline, Maresca should still be fine.
