Chelsea were always expected to be busy as the summer transfer window approached it’s final few hours today.

A new striker has been high up on the agenda for the Blues in the final days of this window, and both their top targets, Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen, are threatening to slip away from them.

Both players have reportedly had deals agreed for them by their clubs to join Al-Ahli, however Sky Sources seem to think the Saudi Arabian side cannot bring both players in.

Elsewhere, there has been talk of a new winger joining the club, with Raheem Sterling seeming to be surplus to requirements for Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.

It has been stated that they have considered signing Jadon Sancho in his place, with him out of the picture himself at Manchester United.

Chelsea getting close to Jadon Sancho deal

Now, Sky journalist Dharmesh Sheth has claimed that Chelsea are getting closer to reaching an agreement with the Blues over either a permanent or loan deal.

He said: “Chelsea edging closer to an agreement with Manchester United over the signing of Jadon Sancho after further talks. Permanent & loan options still on the table. Type of deal could depend on what happens with Raheem Sterling.”

Chelsea fans may look at the current first team squad and wonder if there is any real need to bring in Sancho this summer, given they are pretty stacked in attack.

However, there is no doubting the talent the England international possesses when he is at his best, and could be a shroud addition if the price is right for the Blues.
