Samu Omorodion’s future remains up in the air after his move from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea collapsed.

The Blues were interested in signing Samu Omorodion this summer. However, an issue surrounding Omorodion’s agent and Chelsea has seen them pull out of a deal.

It is still possible that Chelsea and Atletico do business before the transfer window closes, though.

The Spanish club want to sign Conor Gallagher, while their English counterparts have an interest in Joao Felix.

Samu Omorodion could still leave Atletico Madrid this summer

While a move to Chelsea appears to be dead in the water, Omorodion could still get a transfer this month.

According to Fabrizio Romano, his agent is currently exploring other opportunities across Europe.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, the transfer expert said: “After a move to Chelsea fell through, the agent of Samu Omorodion is considering other possibilities around Europe.

“It’s normal talks with an opportunity like him after the Chelsea deal collapsed, but at the moment it’s still nothing serious or advanced.”

Chelsea could make a real effort to sign Victor Osimhen now after ending their interest in Omorodion.

Conor Gallagher stuck at Chelsea

With Chelsea opting not to sign Omorodion this summer, it has complicated Atletico’s deal for Gallagher.

The Spanish club need to raise funds before they can bring the midfielder in, funds they would have received had Chelsea bought their striker.

Not having the cash to buy him, Gallagher has now returned to Chelsea and could be stuck there if Atletico do not return to the table with the money that the Blues want.

Gallagher does not deserve to be treated like this, especially after the season he has just had.

The 24-year-old, who has come through Chelsea’s academy, was one of their best players last term. He made 50 appearances in all competitions and recorded an average match rating of 7.13 on WhoScored. Only Cole Palmer (7.48) ranked higher than him in the Blues’ squad.

Chelsea’s owners do not really seem to care about that, though, and just want their money for Gallagher it appears. However, after deciding not to sign Omorodion, they have complicated things for themselves and all involved.
