Chelsea’s transfer saga involving Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen does not seem to be over yet.

Before Victor Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, Chelsea wanted to sign the 25-year-old.

However, they failed to in the end, allowing Osimhen to sign for the Turkish club on a temporary basis. The Blues, though, could quickly find themselves going all out for the Nigerian again.

It has been reported that Chelsea are talking to Osimhen’s people about a move to Stamford Bridge in 2025.

Victor Osimhen’s long-term future could become clear in January

With Osimhen only at Galatasaray on loan and Napoli signing Romelu Lukaku, his long-term future remains up in the air.

However, Fabrizio Romano expects some developments on it once we are close to January.

Speaking about Osimhen and Chelsea, the Italian journalist told CaughtOffside: “I can honestly say that nothing is happening now regarding Osimhen.

“I’ve said many times recently that Chelsea’s interest remains and they still like the player, but there are no negotiations ongoing and it would be disrespectful for Galatasaray as they paid important money to land Osimhen on loan.

“So it’s all quiet for now, and once we get closer to January we will see the developments.”

Manchester United scouted Osimhen during the 2022/23 season, but the Red Devils had some concerns about him.

Chelsea’s alternative to Victor Osimhen in 2025

If Chelsea fail to sign Osimhen once again next year, then they could always turn to Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres.

It has already been claimed that Chelsea have spied on Gyokeres this season. The 26-year-old was excellent last term and has looked no different in the current campaign.

Gyokeres has already reached double figures for goals, failing to score in just one of Sporting’s league games so far.

Chelsea may not be willing to spend big money on either Gyokeres or Osimhen, though. Right now, their current forwards are doing the trick and if that continues, the club may stick with what they have got.

Combined, Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku have scored 10 goals in all competitions. At present, goalscoring is not proving to be a problem for Enzo Maresca.

His current issues are in defence, with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez making two horrific mistakes against Brighton & Hove Albion over the weekend. Having Osimhen or Gyokeres would obviously not have prevented that.
