Chelsea are pushing for a late move for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho – but time is ticking.
The latest? Well, it appears now Enzo Maresca is pushing for a loan deal for Sancho, with funds seemingly short, or being spared for the Blues’ pursuit of Victor Osimhen from Napoli.
Sancho is seemingly keen on the Chelsea move, but that doesn’t matter too much if the clubs can’t agree on the terms. And, unfortunately, time is ticking.
Although a Red Devil for the past four seasons, Sancho has actually revealed he was a boyhood Chelsea fan – who idolised Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba. He’ll be happy with what one of his heroes already thinks about him.

Frank Lampard has already given Jadon Sancho verdict
Lampard made his mind up very early on about the Manchester United winger – 2021 to be exact. A 21-year-old Sancho was handed his first start of Euro 2020, where he dazzled in a 4-0 victory against Ukraine.
Lampard and Rio Ferdinand spoke after the game about his performance – and had high praise for the England star.
“I’ll tell you one thing, next season at Manchester United he’ll have people off their seats,’ said Ferdinand on BBC Sport after the game.
“One-twos, playing with composure, playing off both feet, end product.
“This is his first game by the way in the tournament and he comes in and plays the way he did today and creates moments. It shows you the talent that’s there.”
Lampard was in total agreement, and stated what is unusual about Sancho, adding: “I think there’s a natural balance and acceleration in him, and movement. This is not the norm.
“And fortunately for England now in our squad we have a few players like this, these incredible talents in attacking areas.
“But he completely vindicates Gareth’s decision to play him today, because of what he brought. He wanted a bit of something more direct, he wanted a right footer, he wanted someone off the side.
“As Rio says, the maturity for a young kid to come in and show it in a game of this level says a lot about his mentality as well. We’ve got a special player coming to the Premier League.”
Things have definitely gone downhill since – that’s for sure.
Can Sancho refind form of old under Enzo Maresca?
If Sancho was to sign, the big query is whether Maresca could unlock his former abilities. There is arguably no better man for the job, given the Italian worked with him at Manchester City.
However, saying that, there is every chance it also wouldn’t come off. Sancho has looked woeful in the Premier League at Manchester United. A shadow of his former self.
He isn’t a Chelsea player yet, but it will be a big risk if he does sign permanently before 11 PM.
