Journalist Lucas Pedrosa has claimed that Palmeiras have given up on the idea of signing Chelsea’s Andrey Santos on loan.
The top Brazilian side near enough had an agreement in place to bring in the youngster ahead of their next domestic season.
The Blues are currently looking for someone to take Santos on loan after they were unable to secure a work permit to keep him at Stamford Bridge for now.

This is despite his sensational performances at the recent U20 South American championships.
The midfielder finished the campaign as the top scorer of the competition, captaining his country to glory.
Plenty of personnel at Chelsea are excited about his signing. Some are reportedly even more intrigued by the addition than they were of club-record addition Enzo Fernandez.
Chelsea changed Santos loan terms
A loan deal to help his progression was on the cards with Palmeiras, one of the top sides in Brazil.
However, Pedrosa has claimed that the Blues changed the terms that were required late in negotiations, eventually putting the club off.
He said: “After practically certain negotiations, Palmeiras gave up on having Andrey. Chelsea demanded the midfielder’s release for the U-20 World Cup and also his return to England on July 1, changing the previously agreed terms. What about Vasco? On the wire.”

Despite the loss, there should be no shortage of potential suitors to want to bring in Santos.
Chelsea will be hopeful that a side take him on loan in order to gain the experience required to secure a work permit, with it not looking long until he joins up with the first team at Cobham.
There is a desire to bring in the perfect partner for Fernandez, and despite his age Santos is already showing signs that he could be that guy very soon.
