Journalist Simon Phillips has told GiveMeSport that 21-year-old Mykhailo Mudryk is far more keen on a move to Arsenal than Chelsea.
The Blues have recently been reportedly considering a sensational swoop for the Shakhtar Donetsk man despite weeks of interest from their London rivals.
It has been claimed that Todd Boehly is keen to act upon the deal, with him planning a bid that will blow Arsenal’s efforts out of the water.
The American has not been shy of spending money to get the players he wants at Stamford Bridge so far, and may need to again to meet the Ukranian side’s demands of £85m.
An example of this is the acquisition of Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa, with their bid leaving their fellow Premier League side in a position where they couldn’t turn it down.
Despite Boehly’s ambition, Phillips has claimed that the winger has made his feelings known enough about Arsenal to suggest they are his number one pripority.
Mudryk set on Arsenal
He said: “Chelsea hold an interest, but the feeling from sources is he has his heart set on joining Arsenal, and we expect that to happen.
“It feels a bit like Chelsea could be being used to get Arsenal to pay up for him, but that’s my opinion.”
The Blues have shown interest in a number of wide options for a future transfer window, although they are beginning to look more unattainable.
