Report: Club starting to grow tired with their £135m player, after Chelsea are linked with buying him

Barcelona are reportedly losing patience with their player Ousmane Dembele, after recent links that Chelsea want to sign him.

According to Marca, Dembele’s agents are still in discussions with Barcelona about him signing a contract extension at the Camp Nou.

It is understood the Spanish giants won’t break the bank to keep the 25-year-old with his contract expiring this summer, so the player may need to compromise to reach an agreement.

The report suggests some at Barca feel the French attacker is wasting the club’s time, but the player’s informed teammates and his manager he wants to stay where he is. He is attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich already, though.

Chelsea want Ousmane Dembele

The Marca update is particularly intriguing because Chelsea are reportedly interested in Dembele this summer.

It’s been claimed this month by 90min that Thomas Tuchel’s Blues aim to target the Barcelona winger once a takeover is completed at Stamford Bridge and they can enter the transfer window.

He’s a supremely talented attacker that’s had his fair share of bad injury luck in recent times, but he’s electric on either wing when fit.

The speedster finished the La Liga season with 13 assists in only 21 league appearances for Barcelona.

However, the £135.5million star’s future is still massively up in the air.

Blues going French this summer?

It does seem like there’s a French pattern appearing in Chelsea’s transfer rumours.

World Cup champions France possess some of the best talents around, so it’s not the biggest surprise to see the Blues linked with plenty already ahead of the summer.

RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku, who’s been outstanding this season, is reportedly on Thomas Tuchel’s radar.

In addition, Sevilla reportedly want to offload French centre-half Jules Kounde quickly this summer amid interest from Chelsea.
