Tottenham are now monitoring the situation of Chelsea star Mason Mount, according to reports.

Sky Sports claims that Manchester United are showing the strongest interest right now in Mason Mount, edging ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign him this summer.

However, the report adds that both Spurs and Newcastle United are closely watching the 24-year-old.

We’re pretty certain the idea of Mount in a Spurs shirt would be enough to make any Chelsea supporter very uncomfortable.

If the English playmaker does end up leaving, we beg he doesn’t go to North London.

90min has reported this week that Chelsea and Mount will sit down for further contract talks next week. They added that incoming Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of Mount and wants him to stay under him next season.

The attacking midfielder’s current deal expires at the end of next season and that’s why there is so much attention on him going into this summer.

The Daily Mail claims that Chelsea are likely to sell Mount in this next transfer window if they can’t agree a contract extension.

You can add Spurs to the long list of Premier League sides now sniffing around Mount.

It seems obvious to us that Chelsea need to pull out all the stops to keep Mount, despite journalist Fabrizio Romano rating it as “unlikely” he’ll sign a new deal.

The “tenacious” Blues player can be an important part of a rebuild and restructure under Pochettino if we can convince him to sign on the dotted line.

It would feel like a step in the right direction if we can hear some positive news on Mount, who looks like a Pochettino-type player.
