Chelsea fans will be anxiously following the news over the next 48 hours to see if the club can get Napoli’s Victor Osimhen through the door.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with Napoli centre-forward Victor Osimhen, 25, during this extremely busy summer transfer window. If the Blues want to sign a new No.9, they’re running out of time because the transfer deadline is this Friday.
Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on Tuesday that Chelsea tabled their first official offer for Osimhen. However, widespread reports suggest that there’s fierce competition from Saudi Arabia club Al-Ahli for his signature.

Why Victor Osimhen hasn’t agreed to Chelsea move yet
According to Di Marzio, Chelsea have made Osimhen an offer but the salary is too low at this moment.
It is explained that the Blues aren’t offering the striker big enough wages. Therefore, Napoli are yet to reach an agreement with the Blues over a potential transfer.
The report adds that Al -Ahli is still very much in the race to sign Osimhen after offering him €30m (£25m) per year on a four-year deal. In fact, the Saudi club has increased it’s offer to Napoli as well to a bid totalling €65m (£55m).
Chelsea alternative
While the Osimhen saga continues to boil over, Enzo Maresca’s side are also linked with alternative options in the striker market. In particular, Brentford’s Ivan Toney has been rumoured to be on the Blues radar.
Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol reported earlier this week that Chelsea have made a move to sign Brentford striker Toney
In fairness, we’d be happy with either Osimhen or Toney. The truth is that either of them tick so many boxes as an out-and-out striker and could provide the club what they’ve needed for so long as a clinical frontman.
All eyes are on Chelsea’s decision-makers to see if they can get one of them in before Friday night.
