The recent transfer windows have been pretty chaotic at Chelsea under this ownership, so what’s in store at Stamford Bridge next month?
In terms of what’s happening on the pitch right now, everything at Chelsea appears to be going very well. They currently sit second in the Premier League table because of their superb form under Enzo Maresca’s management.
So, will there be any significant changes to the Blues squad midway through the campaign?

Clubs make contact for Chelsea star Axel Disasi
According to RMC Sport, Chelsea’s Axel Disasi is now attracting transfer interest ahead of next month’s January transfer window.
It is explained that Italian giants Juventus have already launched an enquiry for the 26-year-old defender. In addition, an unnamed ‘big German club’ has also asked about the Blues centre-half.
Disasi has played 13 games across all competitions so far this season for Chelsea, but he’s slipped down the club’s pecking order. In fact, he’s only featured three times in the club’s Premier League campaign.
The £39m (Sky Sports) centre-back, who can also cover at right-back, is still one of the senior figures in the dressing room. It’s quite telling that he’s worn the captain’s armband on several occasions in recent months, too.
Chelsea may allow Disasi to leave in January amid loan interest from West Ham. It now sounds like a transfer race may be hotting up for his signature, though.
Axel Disasi slips right down the pecking order
Disasi was a regular player in Chelsea’s starting line-up last season under Mauricio Pochettino, but the change of management hasn’t worked in his favour.
| Season | Appearances |
| 2024/25 | 13 |
| 2023/24 | 44 |
Unless something drastically changes, Disasi is set to play a lot less games this term than last year. Therefore, a mid-season transfer to a new club could make good sense for him from an individual viewpoint, but the Blues need to work out if they can cope without his experience and cover.
Gary Lineker called Chelsea’s Disasi “fantastic” last season, and he’s capable of some big performances. He’s not as mobile or consistent as some of the club’s other centre-backs, though.
