A new report has revealed that Chelsea have carried out extensive background checks on Alejandro Garnacho as they look to make further additions in attack.
Speculation has been rife over a potential move for Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea, after things at Manchester United have soured in recent months.
Chelsea’s main priority is Xavi Simons, but they are keen to pursue a deal for the Argentine before the end of the window.
Given some of the concerns around the Argentine, it’s been reported by the Telegraph that executives from Chelsea have done their due diligence in profiling the character of the player.
Chelsea have ‘no concerns’ over character of Alejandro Garnacho and are prepared to bid
The results of the checks have led Enzo Maresca and Chelsea to ramp up their interest in Garnacho, finding nothing to suggest the issues at his current club are down to problems with the player’s attitude.
The Blues plan to make an offer for the winger, though they must first get their outgoings in order to assure flexibility in making the deal.

Chelsea value Garnacho at around £30 million, and see themselves as holding a strong position in negotiations, given the player’s desire to move to Chelsea and United’s desire to get rid of him.
Some outgoings need to be sorted before Chelsea can make this deal happen
Chelsea are in a strong financial position following their exploits in the Club World Cup, but they plan to sell a handful of players over the coming weeks. Nicolas Jackson looks likely to leave this summer and for a hefty fee. Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja also appear to be on the chopping block.
Provided things go to plan and Chelsea make enough room for both Simons and Garnacho, it would be a brilliant move for the Blues, exploiting the tensions at Manchester United to acquire a player in Garnacho whose ceiling at just 21 is extremely high.
When you look at players who have left United in recent years, there seems to be a trend in which they excel elsewhere. Antony and Scott McTominay are prime examples from last season.
If this deal goes through, we may look back on it in a few years as a major coup by the club.
