Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is at risk of missing out on Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
Conor Gallagher was expected to join Atletico Madrid during this transfer window, but after Chelsea‘s decision to pull out of a deal for Samu Omorodion, the 24-year-old’s move to the Spanish club has stalled.
Atletico need to raise funds in order to sign Gallagher and were hoping to do that by selling Omorodion to Chelsea.
However, Chelsea are going for Victor Osimhen instead of Omorodion now, cooling their interest in the Olympic gold medalist.

Diego Simeone’s stance on Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher
Atletico are unlikely to be pleased with Chelsea’s decision to pull out of the Omorodion deal. Their relationship with their English counterparts has probably worsened as a result.
However, that has not changed anything for Simeone, who really seems to want Gallagher at the Civitas Metropolitano.
According to The Telegraph, the Argentine is desperate for Atletico to find a solution and complete the signing of Gallagher before the transfer window closes.
And it is still possible that a solution is found, with Joao Felix currently being eyed by Chelsea.
If the Blues go on to sign him, that should give Atletico the funds needed to purchase Gallagher this summer.
Chelsea could offload Trevoh Chalobah before Conor Gallagher
With Gallagher stuck at Chelsea for the time being, there is now a possibility of the club selling Trevoh Chalobah before his compatriot.
Like with Gallagher, Chelsea are also trying to get rid of Chalobah. Chalobah is attracting interest from Bologna, so that could be one potential destination for him.
Whether it is Chalobah or Gallagher who is sold first, both players are almost certain to leave Stamford Bridge.
It is a shame given that the pair came through the club’s academy, but there is little room in Enzo Maresca‘s squad for them, while Chelsea’s owners will want to make some money after spending so much in recent transfer windows.
