Enzo Maresca has been refreshingly ruthless in the way he has made it clear who he wants to be a part of his first team squad.
Experienced players such as Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell have been exiled from the starting squad, and essentially told to move on if they want to be playing football.
Chilwell is reportedly of interest to Fenerbache, with the Turkish transfer window remaining open for now.
A number of first team players have found minutes impossible to come by this season in the Premier League, with the size of the squad making it impossible for them all to be present on matchday.
One player who has been absent from league duty is Carney Chukwuemeka, after hardly featuring either during the pre-season tour of the United States.

Maresca should bring Carney Chukwuemeka back into first team picture
This week saw Chukwuemeka back in first team training with the boss, as a number of the first team jet off to represent their countries on international duty.
Maresca should now look to bring the midfielder back into the fold for the upcoming games.
Injuries have begun to impact the first team squad, with both first choice right-backs out of action at the moment.
Chelsea hit hard by injuries
This could see Moises Caicedo required to start there, and although there is hope Romeo Lavia will be fit for the Bournemouth game, there is no guarantees he will be ready to feature.
Chelsea may therefore be short on options in the middle of the park, however when fit they have an extremely talented youngster in Chukwuemeka ready to go.
Minutes have not been easy to find in general for the central midfielder since his £20m move from Aston Villa, with injuries impacting his gametime at Stamford Bridge.
If he can stay fit, there is no doubt he can make an impact on first team proceedings, and Maresca should look to integrate him into proceedings for the coming games.
