Even though there has been an upturn in Enzo Fernandez’s form recently, the Chelsea midfielder will be disappointed to see he ranks very high across the Premier League in one concerning statistic.

Enzo Fernandez, 24, is remarkably one of the more experienced individuals in such a young Chelsea squad.

The Argentine central midfielder is enjoying a strong season, scoring four goals and creating eight assists across all competitions

Also, Jason Cundy has spotted leadership in Fernandez by noticing a real positive shift in his body language on the pitch. Fernandez has regularly captained the Blues when club captain Reece James is absent.

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez in Premier League’s top five for dribbled past statistic

Chelsea’s Fernadnez may not enjoying seeing that he ranks fourth across the entire Premier League when it comes to most times dribbled past this season.

The Blues midfielder has been dribbled past 38 times so far in England’s top division. Meanwhile, Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold sits top of the individual statistic (51).

While it comes with the territory of playing in the centre of the park, Fernandez should be aiming to improve his defensive work when he sees the stat above. Fortunately, the South American star is still a very positive influence on Chelsea’s team with his work rate and quality on the football.

John Terry has been impressed with Fernandez by naming him as one of Chelsea’s top performers this season.

Elsewhere, Chelsea supporters called Fernandez the team’s heartbeat after his performance in the recent league victory over Southampton.

We do feel like Chelsea do look a bit more defensively secure when Romeo Lavia is in the starting XI, but the deep-lying midfielder has had plenty of injury interruptions during his Blues career.

In the meantime, the combination of Fernandez and Moises Caicedo is still pretty impressive.

In the long-term plans, we wonder if playing attack-minded Fernandez in front of a Lavia-Caicedo midfield pivot could be something to consider.
