Joao Felix says £12m Chelsea ace works harder than any other player

Joao Felix appears to be enjoying life at Chelsea after joining in the summer, and he’s already showing his appreciation for one hardworking individual in particular.

Enzo Maresca has introduced a real togetherness at Chelsea, with all the players looking like they actually want to play under him at Stamford Bridge.

Nicolas Jackson looks completely transformed, and Cole Palmer continues to go from strength to strength, as well as Marc Cucurella making the players around him better.

The Chelsea boss‘ style of play fits perfectly with the attacking talents that are currently at the club, with the pace to really cause opposition defences problems.

However, it’s a defender who’s working the hardest behind the scenes at Cobham, according to Joao Felix.

Joao Felix says Renato Veiga is the hardest worker at Chelsea

Renato Veiga joined Chelsea for £12 million in the summer.

The youngster has already made seven appearances for the Blues, with four of them coming in starts.

Chelsea fans were impressed with the defender after his display against Inter Milan during pre-season, and he’s looked bright in his competitive performances already.

And, Joao Felix has noticed how hard he works off the field as he named him as the hardest worker.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Felix was asked who is the most hard-working player at the club.

He responded.

“Renato.”

The left-back situation at Chelsea

Ben Chilwell was training away from the first team in the summer after the decision was made by Enzo Maresca that his squad was too big.

However, the Chelsea boss has since admitted that it was a mistake after handing Chilwell a lifeline and the captain’s armband against Barrow recently.

Marc Cucurella is the first-choice starter at left-back, and that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon, with Martin Keown saying how vital Cucurella is to the play Chelsea play.

So, Veiga needs to continue working and making the most of the opportunities he is given, as it’ll take something special to knock the Spaniard off his perch.

At the end of the day, competition is healthy in any successful side.
