Richard Keys now claims Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is ‘streets ahead’ of £88m Champions League winner

Right now, Chelsea star Cole Palmer is one of the best footballers in the world and proved that over the weekend.

Cole Palmer scored four goals in Chelsea‘s 4-2 win against Brighton & Hove Albion, his third hat-trick since joining the club from Manchester City last year.

It was also the second time that the attacking midfielder scored four goals in a single game after he did the same last season in a 6-0 victory over Everton.

Palmer is a better player than Eden Hazard, former Premier League striker Dean Ashton has now claimed.

Cole Palmer ‘streets ahead’ of Jude Bellingham

BeIN SPORTS presenter Richard Keys thinks Palmer is also the superior footballer when compared to Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.

Discussing the two England players on his blog, richardajkeys.com, Keys said: “Cole Palmer. Wow. What a player. He’s streets ahead of Bellingham. I can’t think of better money ever being spent. What a rick [Pep] Guardiola dropped letting him go.

“He’s already worth £100m more than Chelsea paid and he’s only going to get better. I love watching him.”

Bellingham has made a bit of a slow start to this season. In the four league games that the £88.5m midfielder has played so far, he has failed to score.

Palmer, in contrast, has netted six times and also has four assists in six appearances. Liverpool legend Steve Nicol feels that Palmer doesn’t waste anything.

Is Cole Palmer better than Jude Bellingham?

While Bellingham has not hit top form yet this season, he was excellent in the last campaign. The 22-year-old scored 23 goals in all competitions and helped Real Madrid to win the Champions League.

Bellingham also made an impact at Euro 2024, scoring that incredible bicycle kick against Slovakia. But so did Palmer, who netted in the final.

They are both incredibly talented players, but at this moment in time Palmer probably comes out on top.

His output has been better despite playing in a Chelsea team who are nowhere near as good as Real Madrid.

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has suggested that Palmer is unstoppable if you try to take the Chelsea man on one-v-one. His team found that out the hard way on Saturday.
