Darren Ambrose has suggested that he can see Harry Kane joining Chelsea, if Mauricio Pochettino becomes manager.

Pochettino is expected to be announced as the new Chelsea boss soon, as Todd Boehly closes in on getting the Argentine manager.

Already rumours have started suggesting that Kane could become a target for Chelsea.

And, speaking on TalkSPORT, Ambrose has said it is a transfer that he can see happening.

He said: “I think it’s his last season, last few games at Spurs. When there was talk of Mauricio Pochettino coming to Spurs I said maybe Harry Kane could sign a contract at Spurs, because we know the relationship they have got.

“But he’s on the verge of signing for Chelsea I now can’t say he definitely won’t go there. He has a very good relationship, we all know that. He loves Mauricio Pochettino.

“I can envisage him going there, I can, I can see that being a club he would go to, I can see him staying in London as well.”

Kane to Chelsea?

Despite Ambrose’s claims, we still think this is a transfer to be treated with a degree of scepticism.

Of course, Chelsea are likely to be interested in taking Kane – why wouldn’t they be? He is a ‘world class’ striker, according to Graeme Souness.

But whether Spurs would sell to a rival or Kane would be interested in the move both have to be somewhat doubtful.

At face value, Kane could be a great addition to this Chelsea squad though.

The Blues have badly lacked goals and Kane’s ability to finish is beyond question.

Pochettino is surely going to be in the market for a top quality number nine, and Kane certainly fits that bill.

The England captain is well on his way to becoming the Premier League’s record goalscorer and if he was to do that at Chelsea it would be wonderful.

But there are still more questions than answers with this transfer deal, and it feels like signing a player like Victor Osimhen or Ivan Toney remains more likely at this moment in time.
