Chelsea could watch one of their targets move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli this summer.

Following the collapse of their deal for Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion, Chelsea remain in the market for a new striker.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is the name that they have been heavily linked with, with it being reported that Enzo Maresca wants Osimhen at Chelsea.

However, the Blues are also said to be interested in one centre-forward from the Premier League.

Brentford’s Ivan Toney could join Al-Ahli

Chelsea are considering making a loan offer for Ivan Toney. It would come with an obligation to buy, but the Blues may have to act quickly if they want the deal to happen.

That is because Al-Ahli are also keen on the Brentford star. According to CaughtOffside, the Saudi Arabian club are ready to make a £30m bid for him.

Toney‘s contract expires in 2025, so Brentford are likely to consider offers for the 28-year-old before the transfer window closes to avoid the risk of losing him for nothing.

Toney doesn’t want to sign a new contract, so his career at the Gtech Community Stadium does appear to be coming to an end.

Chelsea could make late move for Ivan Toney

If Toney does not want to join Al-Ahli and Chelsea fail to sign Osimhen, then you can easily imagine them making a late swoop for Toney.

The Blues need a striker and Toney, on his day, is one of the best in the Premier League. “He’s remarkable,” Thomas Frank told Brentford’s official website last year.

Chelsea do have Nicolas Jackson, while Marc Guiu could remain with the first-team squad after impressing in pre-season.

However, Jackson needs to improve, which was clear to see last season after all of the chances he missed. As for Guiu, the Spaniard is only 18, so you cannot expect too much from him in the new campaign.

It is why Maresca could do with another centre-forward like Toney arriving at Stamford Bridge.
