Chelsea are pushing hard to sign ‘unbelievable’ player as ‘next top target’, he wants the move

Even though Chelsea have been extremely busy with transfers so far this summer, it looks like they’re not slowing down just yet.

The Blues moved quickly to sign English striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town at the start of June. Since then, he’s made an impressive start with the club at the Club World Cup.

Widespread reports claim that Enzo Maresca’s side are about to complete the signings of Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens and Brighton’s Joao Pedro, too.

Pedro has completed his Chelsea medical ahead of securing a move to Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, Chelsea are expected to pay £55m for Gittens after weeks of speculation.

Chelsea pushing to sign Mohammed Kudus

West Ham star Mohammed Kudus, 24, is the latest attacker linked with a potential move to Chelsea.

Recent reports explained that Chelsea failed with a £50m offer for Kudus, but they’re not giving up on the Hammers star just yet.

Journalist Simon Phillips claims via Substack that Chelsea are now working hard to try and sign Kudus. They face competition from Tottenham, Newcastle United and clubs in Saudi Arabia, though.

It is explained that the Blues have identified the West Ham playmaker as their ‘next top target’, but Spurs are advancing with their attempts to sign him.

Phillips adds that Kudus sees Chelsea as the ideal move for him. Even though Maresca’s side are now pushing hard to sign the left-footed playmaker, they won’t be held to ransom on a deal.

Mohammed Kudus would be a great fit for Enzo Maresca

Without a doubt, Kudus possesses the versatility in his game to be a great signing at Chelsea under Maresca. The Ghana international has proven throughout his career so far he can shine in any of the front four attacking positions.

Maresca previously described Kudus as “brilliant” after a game between Chelsea and West Ham.

Elsewhere, Michail Antonio has shared that the Chelsea target is a special individual. When discussing Kudus, Antonio told TNT Sports in March 2025: “The certain things he’s been doing in training… it’s like the ball is glued to his feet, it’s actually unbelievable.”

Kudus has proven in West Ham and Ajax colours he’s capable of the spectacular, but perhaps he needs another big move to elevate his game to the next level on a more consistent basis.
